It is with pleasure for me to write this letter as a volunteer for our Rent Stabilization Committee.  We are called Change4MHR (Change 4 Manufactured Home Residents), and our community consists of tenants who are senior citizens.  We have been sending letters to you and others for months.

The point of each letter is to stress, with utmost importance, the need to work together towards Rent Stabilization for Seniors living in manufactured homes in Arizona.  We own our homes but pay a site fee to the landowner.  

Our meetings have continued now for the last year. As a group, we are ready to put forward a proposed Bill for the State House and Senate to consider. This Bill has had continued research, professional support, and HEART woven into its creation.

Rent in Senior Manufactured Home Parks is Unstable.There are NO guidelines for owners, managers, and thousands of tenants in Arizona.  There are NO protections for homeowners living in Manufactured Homes.   The Reality is an increasing fee for the Space Rent that is crippling households to pay; forcing many Seniors to sell and move from what once was considered an affordable and safe home.

I see this clearly myself; knowing if this Rent issue isn’t Stabilized, I too will be forced from my home.

NOW IS THE TIME. The work to create a way forward with impartiality and equality is a MUST for all involved.
