Our mission is to represent manufactured home owners in seeking partnership with Arizona state government and local legislators to protect seniors living in manufactured home parks from being priced out of their own residence.
We all live in the state of Arizona, in a manufactured home park on leased land. Our organization is concerned about the seniors, like ourselves, who live in these parks. We own our homes, for the most part, but rent the lot space and amenities. We would like to continue to live where we are and enjoy our homes. We have become aware of rental rate increases that are making our key issues of affordable housing, community development, and resident empowerment harder to achieve. We hope through our collaborating with residents, local officials, and state representatives to formulate a plan to both ensure that we promote improved living conditions, fair policies, and achieve a sustainable lifestyle for seniors, like us. Remember CHANGE HAPPENS TOGETHER.
Current News:
Congratulations to Katy O’Batey, for her appointment as AAMHO’s Legislative Director. As such, she will provide direction for AAMHO’s legislative goals. More to come, as she begins meetings this month with the AAMHO Board & Lobbyist. In this capacity, Katy will have an impact on community involvement throughout Arizona Manufactured Home Parks, as we work towards affordable Lot Rent Stabilization through legislation. Katy is a resident of Pine Shadows 55+ Manufactured Home Community in Cottonwood AZ, and she is also an active realtor.
Katy has been a leader in efforts to work with MH Parks, Legislators, and County & Community Leaders to educate them on the growing concerns for skyrocketing lot rents imposed by MH Park owners/national investment firms. We are excited about her new level of involvement, and pledge support to her continued efforts. Again, congratulations, Katy!
From Katy the following comment: “I am looking forward to this Challenge of work to help us with our rent stabilization and any other issues our homeowners feel we need to work with on a legislative basis. Please contact me with any suggestions, ideas, thoughts. I look forward to working with everyone in the coming year and hopefully making change for all of us.
At the same time Charlotte Perkins, who is also on the Change4MHR Board and a resident of Pine Shadows, accepted a position of AAMHO District 8 Director. Within that position, Charlotte will be able to further impact our Change4MHR goals. Along with Katy, they will each have a vote on the AAMHO Board of Directors. Their new alliance will bring our mission of stabilizing lot rents to the forefront in this State, with recognition to the work that Change4MHR has achieved thus far.
